We have been working to raise awareness of this topic by convening experts and conducting in-depth research on the topic as we realize the critical role it now plays among healthcare professionals (Monsen et al., 2019). The field of nursing informatics advances the use of EMR and computerized input by healthcare providers. Nursing informatics professionals collaborate with various stakeholders across the care continuum, ultimately helping to bridge the gap between clinical and technical perspectives. Keeping patient safety in mind is her first responsibility. Healthcare’s unique and hybrid heroes are nursing informatics specialists.
