Inhumane and unfair are the oppressive and discriminatory actions that the majority of people with HIV remain in a secluded environment and long to be retributed (Oduro Otsin and Otsin 2013). The prevalence of discrimination has led people living with HIV/AIDS suffer from stigma and develop strategies to stay away from the general public. The oppression and discrimination in Ghana can be described as dynamic since it happens not just in one way to everyone, but it happens to everyone in various ways. Indeed, research indicates that the degree of discrimination against widows and women in Ghana is extremely high and pervasive compared to gender discrimination that is rife against males (UNAID 2022). It is a risk of leading to suicidal ideas and even suicides. Many people in Ghana have the preconceived notion of prejudice, bias, and that HIV/AIDS sufferers should be considered outcasts and socially unacceptable. These beliefs have been proven to increase the level of discrimination and oppression against those living with HIV/AIDS in Ghana.
