An economic development strategy aims to increase trade and production in certain areas by adjusting the costs of commodities that could be traded internationally and the ones that can be imported. The significant event of China’s accession to the WTO in 2001 marked the start of an entirely new phase in the development of China’s trade development strategy which can be divided into two main phases. During the “pre-accession-to-WTO” phase, China’s trade development strategy progressed through four stages between the years 1980 and 2001 (Bin, 2020). These stages comprised “import substitute and marginal promotion of exports” (1980-1983), “export promotion neutralizing import substitution” (1984-1990), “export promotion and marginal trade liberalization” (1991-1993) as well as “radical open trade.” In the final phase, there was “radical Liberalization of trade” (1994-2001). They provided a better understanding of the industrial and trade policies the government of India plans to implement to create institutional changes and economic growth as well as the policy of open doors. Cont…
