The body of your PowerPoint presentation should be organized based on the main sections of analysis (with each section being 1-3 slides): Overview and Context Ethics Leadership Budgeting/Finance Future Directions/Implications

Narrated PowerPoint Presentation. If you choose, you can submit a narrated PowerPoint presentation. The PowerPoint of the research you conducted on the contemporary policy issue or public sector organization should be a 10-15 slide presentation. There should be narration on each page of the PowerPoint presentation, with total narration time being 10-15 minutes. Narration of the PowerPoint should thoroughly explain the ideas on each page AND should be more than simply reading the text on each page — that is, the narration needs to enhance the analysis/explanation provided in the text. The project title and your name must be on the first slide; the second slide should clearly state your hypothesis and/or research question. The final slide should be a References list (with proper APA citations).

The body of your PowerPoint presentation should be organized based on the main sections of analysis (with each section being 1-3 slides):
Overview and Context
Ethics
Leadership
Budgeting/Finance
Future Directions/Implications

Be sure to include the two (or more) specific concepts in the Ethics, Leadership, and Budgeting/Finance sections (for more details, see the ‘Capstone Project Instructions’ file provided in the Course Menu in the left sidebar).

Each of these sections needs to include references to concepts presented in the reading materials in this class and/or readings in your previous PADM courses, each of which needs to be cited in-text in APA format. Be sure the PowerPoint presentation includes references to at least eight (8) sources, no fewer than six of which must be peer-reviewed, scholarly sources – i.e. the sources you identified in your annotated bibliography, along with the reading materials in this class and/or readings in your previous PADM courses, as well as any other sources you may have researched since you submitted the annotated bibliography.

The PowerPoint presentation will be assessed based on the quality of the information, both the text and the narration, as well as the style of the slides (e.g. professional, pages not overly crowded, etc.)

Your 10-15 page paper (OR narrated PowerPoint presentation) will be submitted in Learning Module 6.

As noted above, your 10-15 page paper (double-spaced, 12-point font, 1” margins) is a formal write-up of your project. This paper must be written in APA format, including a Title Page and References page (these two items will not be counted as part of the page limit). The body of the paper must include the following sections: Introduction with a clearly defined thesis, Overview, Analysis of topics (Overview/Context, Ethics, Leadership, Budget/Finance, Future Directions/Implications), and a Summary/Conclusion.

The paper needs to include theoretical/conceptual ideas, with an explanation of how those are connected to the issues being discussed in the paper.

If you choose to submit a narrated PowerPoint presentation, the presentation should include the project title and your name on the first slide; the final slide should be a list of sources used in the presentation (that is, a References page). Sources cited in-text need to be presented in APA format. The slides will need to address each of the five topics for your project (Overview/Context, Ethics, Leadership, Budget/Finance, Future Directions/Implications) and should include theoretical/conceptual ideas, with an explanation of how those are connected to the issues being discussed in the presentation. There needs to be narration on each page of the PowerPoint presentation, with total narration time being 10-15 minutes. Narration of the PowerPoint needs to thoroughly explain the ideas on each page AND should be more than simply reading the text on each page — that is, the narration needs to enhance the analysis/explanation provided in the text.

[The PowerPoint presentation will be assessed based on the quality of the information, both the text and the narration, as well as the style of the slides (e.g. professional, pages not overly crowded, etc.). See the grading rubric for details.]
