Discussion Prompt Define the term telemedicine 
 Discuss the differences between collaborative care and integrative care. 
 Discuss the development of telemedicine considerations in children and youths and how you
can collaborate with their current pediatric primary care provider. 
 Consider a situation where you believe the child is in an abusive situation, either with a
caregiver outside the home or for an adolescent in an abusive relationship with another older
adolescent.  What options would you offer to encourage collaborative care between primary
care and psychiatric care (you have options of telemedicine and in-office visits)?

Collaborative and Integrative Care Differences

The implementation of specific care for the patient is one aspect which differentiates collaborative care from integrative care. Collaboration is the process of care that involves multiple practitioners collaborate together (Ee and al. 2020). Psychologists, doctors, hospitals and other professionals are able to treat patients on their own but they are able to share responsibilities. However, integrative care works together to provide direct patient care and sharing EHRs as team members for a particular situation (American Psychological Association 2017). The specialists work in tandem with one another in every patient’s case, and also in they work in the main care environment is the specialty. Thus, collaborative care integrates primary and mental health to deliver accountable, focused and complete treatment. But, integrative care is the integration of treatment based on curative and preventive measures that are specific to a particular group of patients (InSync Healthcare Solutions 2022).
