8. Outline three ways that the 9/11 Commission used to counter domestic and global terrorism

The aim for the Department of Homeland Security Strategy for Countering Terrorism and Targeted Violence is to implement the White House’s 2017 National Security Strategy and 2018 National Strategy for Counterterrorism, and any other national policies. This framework provides the Department’s plan for fighting the threat of terrorism and violence targeted at individuals which threatens the Homeland (McAleenan 2020). This does not mean that other agencies or departments aren’t entrusted with significant responsibilities to perform, however, they are. The goals, objectives, and prioritization of activities presented by this report will improve the department’s ability to fight transnational criminal groups human traffickers, transnational criminal organizations, as well as other kinds of criminal menaces. The issues that the country faces today are huge but, they can be overcome it is only if it is the Department of Homeland Security takes an approach that is focused on the entire society and grants the people as well as the state as well as tribal, local and regional authorities along with individuals from the private industry, the non-governmental sector, and community leaders greater capabilities and resources, they will be able to remain flexible in the face of ever-changing threats and increase the security of the nation in general (McAleenan 2020). Cont…
