PART 1

Complete the “Paraprofessional Self-Assessment” document.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected.
You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

This week, students have a two-part assignment. Part one is to complete the paraprofessional self-assessment for 30 points; simply download the document and indicate your answers to the multiple-choice questions, then submit—easy! (Indicate your answers by highlighting them in color, putting them in bold font or putting an X.)

The second step is to write a 750-1000 word paper (60 points) to describe your reasons for going into the behavioral health field and how ethics will influence your career. Be sure to look through the rubric before completing the assignment.
Remember—word count applies to the body of the paper only and does not include the title/reference pages. (This applies to the discussion forum main responses as well.)

• Write a 750-1,000-word paper in which you describe your reasons for going into the behavioral health field and discuss how ethics will influence your career as a paraprofessional. My Primary Program: Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health Science with emphasis on addiction

Include the following in your paper:
1. How might your reasons for entering the field be of benefit or detriment to your future clientele?
2. How might your reasons influence treatment of your clients both positively and negatively? Refer to the concepts of transference, countertransference, and the influence of your own assumptions in your essay.
3. A minimum of two scholarly sources
Note: You may use first-person in your essay when needed. Remember to support your ideas with scholarly resources and document your sources accordingly.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
