For both children and adults as well, childhood experiences (ACEs) can be linked to various health issues. There is little information on how childhood experiences that are negative (ACEs) are a factor in the development of obesity in children (Schroeder and co. 2021). The goal of this research was to collect the findings of studies that quantitatively examine the relationship between negative childhood experiences (ACEs) and obesity in childhood. As of the month of July, 2020 we searched PubMed, PsycInfo, and the Web of Science for relevant research. We also utilized Rayyan to sort studies and we utilized the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale for assessing the probability of bias within the studies. There were 6,966 studies that were screened for title/abstract, and 168 reached the full-text stage following the research. A total of 24 studies could be included. The study’s reliability is moderate with highest chance of bias stemming from the study’s use of self-reported ACE data , or its high rate of dropout. The results of this research suggest that negative childhood experiences are a major factor in childhood obesity (Schroeder and colleagues. 2021). The effect of adverse experience in childhood (ACEs) on the development of obesity is more evident when girls are obese than boys. Sexual assault may cause more severe effects on the development of obesity in children as compared to other ACEs and the presence of several ACEs could be associated with an increased risk of developing weight gain. Furthermore, it can take 2 to 5 years for the impact of ACEs on obesity in children to be evident. As a group these findings highlight the need for paying more focus on ACEs as a means of fighting and treatment in childhood obesity. Cont…
