The results of the surveys above indicate that lifestyle, environment, and genetics affect a person’s overall health. For example, when it comes to lung cancer, the questionnaire focused on whether I worked in an environment that contained asbestos or other carcinogenic substances. Furthermore, some of the questions asked whether I was a smoker or if I remain smoking. The survey included questions about whether or not I have any family background for lung cancer (Siteman Cancer Center 2020). In this respect I’m able to confirm that the surroundings that one works and lives in has an impact on their health as the presence of toxic substances in an area can ultimately affect one’s health.

Furthermore, lifestyle choices are an important contributor to overall health. Making the decision to stop smoking cigarettes can result in the development of various illnesses so we need to be cautious about the practices to take on and eliminate any that are harmful. In addition, due to the transmission of genetics through our genetic family lineage individuals may be susceptible to developing certain illnesses. For example the presence of the presence of diabetes in the family increases the higher risk of developing this condition (Laakso and Fernandes Silva 2022). So, the environment, our life style, and genetics influence our health…
