Dear Dad,

How do you feel? How do you feel about mom, Josh, and Mercy? Hope this note finds them all well. I truly miss you guys I was hoping to get in touch with you earlier however, I’ve been busy settling into my new campus. I’m also perfectly at home. This letter is to let you know about my experiences in America as you requested prior to my departure. I am awestruck by America and I think that you will too due to the way in which the government and society are arranged. I’ve discovered from my experience that it is the United States’ political system is mature and there’s a lot that we can learn from their experience. I will briefly outline the key principles I’ve learned concerning US politics. US government. I’ve learned in the course about the US government has three branches. This includes the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. Their powers are granted by the US Constitution in Congress, the President as well as the Federal Courts, respectively (University of Washington Libraries 1). The US Constitution is an amazing document, a daring experiment in democracy that’s nearly two hundred years old (Hayek 2). Through the years it has proven to be resilient and durable enough to endure and stay relevant in a society which is vastly different from the world in which it was created. It provides checks and balances between the three branches of government and splits the power between the state and federal governments.
