Church Renaissance was the result from the rise of secular spirit which led to the reformation of religious beliefs during the 15 ^th as well as 16 ^th century. While people held an enormous amount of respect for the catholic churches of earlier times however, there were uprisings that challenged the oppressive doctrines of the church of the day. The development in the Reformation movement was due in part to issues related to church leaders’ lavish ornamentation and their repressive attitudes. According to Dutton and others. These difficulties led into the idea of a “revolt towards traditional Catholic church” (402). Despite their humble beginnings Martin Luther, John Calvin and Zwingli began to teach beliefs that were in opposition to the strict Catholic doctrines. The major difference between the beliefs that were the focus of Luther as well as Calvin is their differing views regarding God as the supreme Being and as a person. On the other hand, Zwingli, who preached radical reforms, focused on the most fundamental concerns that caused worship issues. The revolutionary effects that occurred in the beginning of the century are apparent in both Catholic and Protestant church organizations.

Calvin’s reforms are focused on church problems, the remedies for the sins and what the implications of these changes are. Brewer and Whitford noting the fact that, in all three parts, Calvin emphasizes what he is commonly called the soul and the body that is the Church. According to Dutton and others., Calvin considered “God was already determining who was chosen to salvation and who would be punished” (149). The church’s soul stressed religion and the gospel as the primary principal for Christians to determine the right path to God. However the church’s body was comprised of administration and the sacraments…
