From 1977 until 1981 Jimmy Carter was the 39th president of America (Annis Jr 2022). To promote economic and social progress, safeguard democratic rights and human rights, and to bring peace-based solutions to international conflicts Jimmy Carter was presented with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. (Ock, 2019). President Jimmy Carter wanted to make the government better “competent and compassionate” or, more simply more in tune with the desires and needs of the American citizens. The achievements of his administration were impressive but it was not easy for the administration to fulfill the lofty standards in the midst of rising costs for energy, rising inflation, and intensifying conflict. The Carter administration was attracting attention through the need for conservation of the environment as well as reforms to the government, and the removal of barriers to race. Carter was a major force in efforts to tackle unemployment and inflation as two economic issues that remained unsolved (Annis Jr 2022). Around eight million jobs were created during Carter’s presidency.
