The Foundation for Servant Leadership defines servant leadership as “a concept and set of actions that improves the lives of people, builds more productive organizations and finally helps to create a more equitable and more compassionate society.” The concept of “servant leadership” was first utilized in the writings of Robert K. Greenleaf in his 1970 essay entitled “The Leader as Servant” as the Leader” (Eva and co. 2019). If a leader’s main motivation is to help their followers, they’re engaged in serving leadership and is different from other leadership principles (Gandolfi and Stone 2018). Concentrating on the people who work for them, instead of the company in general is an indication of a leader who is a servant. If a leader is able to adopt an attitude of service that is, they place their focus on their employees in their professional, intellectual and independent as well as physical development (Gandolfi and Stone 2018). Many people believe that if executives and managers aren’t thinking about themselves but focus on their employees, they’ll be able to increase the number of highly skilled knowledgeable, well-informed, and enthusiastic employees. Cont…
