Leadership requires much more of a collective effort than a single feat. A lot of leaders let their egos and their secret goals take over the wheel. This isn’t just unproductive since it hinders the company from expanding, but as it hinders people from receiving best possible treatment (Shroff 2018). They also hold an unshakeable belief that they are always the right decision maker. However, it is the responsibility of a leadership to be sure each issue is addressed with a feasible solution or opportunity that will help keep moving forward. True leaders understand that mistakes are an inevitable aspect of learning (Shroff 2018, 2018). Being a leader should not mean taking on unnecessary risks. Being accountable means taking the time to think about what did not go as planned and the way you could have resolved the issue differently. To ensure that the company is secure from unexpected incidents, a competent leader is well-informed about the team’s specialists in their field and grants them authority in situations of crises. It’s been a huge blow to me as a manager when I realize that my team views myself as someone who is unwilling to admit guilt or accept accountability in their behavior. Cont…
